Beyond The Choice
Healing after an abortion can be a difficult and emotional process. Many women may feel like they are alone in their struggle, but it's so important to remember that you are not alone. It doesn't matter if your abortion was last month or years ago, the healing process is important and valid for all women.
First and foremost, it's important to acknowledge and validate your feelings. It's okay to feel sad, angry, or confused. Your emotions are valid and it's important to process them in a healthy way. This could mean talking to a therapist, joining a support group, or simply journaling your thoughts and feelings.
One of the biggest hurdles for women in the healing process is often shame and guilt. It's important to remember that you made the best decision you could at the time, with the information and resources you had available. You are not a bad person for having an abortion, and you deserve forgiveness and healing.
Additionally, taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally is crucial in the healing process. This could mean taking time for yourself to do things you enjoy, seeking medical care if necessary, or practicing self-care techniques such as meditation or exercise.
Joining a support group or seeking out professional counseling can also be incredibly helpful. You will be able to connect with others who have gone through similar experiences and receive guidance and support in your healing journey. If you’d like to be a part of a private group for post-abortive women, please reach out to me.
It's important to remember that healing is a journey, and it may not happen overnight. Give yourself permission to grieve and process your emotions at your own pace. And remember, it's never too late to start the healing process. No matter how long it's been since your abortion, you deserve healing and a positive future.
